As expected and on time, the soybean harvest began in Croatian fields, unlike last season's weather conditions, this year's are favorable to farmers in terms of the harvest itself.
Thanks to sufficient rainfall during the season and optimal temperatures, high yields are expected this year.
The harvest began with very early groups of soybeans (000 i 00), and soon after, the soybeans of the 0 maturation group such ES Tribor arrived.
In the following, we are brining you the results of the yields achieved on our production areas in Okučani, where the early varieties 000 and 00 were harvested, as well as the results of trial plots from Koška and Drenovci.
ES Albator (00) achieved an enviable yield of 3.723 kg/ha, Aurelina as a very early variety, ripening group 000, achieved a yield of 3.304 kg/ha and Lissabon as the earliest soybean variety of ripening group 000, 2.903 kg/ha.
In parallel with results of our production, high yields were also achieved in the experiments that were diligently performed by our producers.
First results from the field came from our producer from Koška. The harvest took place on September 7, and our early variety Maestral (00) achieved yield of 4.550 kg/ha, along with Aurelina, whose yield reached a high 4.320 kg/ha. Significant yields were also achieved with the varieties Lissabon 4.182 kg/ha, ES Comandor 3.975 kg/ha and ES Albator 3.631 kg/ha.
On September 11, a test harvest was carried out with our commercial advisor Marin Kalistović from Drenovci. Although the trial plots were destroyed due to the storm that hit the whole Croatia on July 19 this year, especially the far east of Croatia, with strong gusts of wind followed by heavy precipitation and hail, colleague Marin achieved a good yields. The variety ES Tribor, zero ripening group, achieved a yield of 3.812 kg/ha, and along with it, the mid late variety of group I, ES Conqueror, ES Mediator and ES Pallador achieved an average yield of 3.745 kg/ha.
In the upcoming days, we expect harvest and the results of other ripening groups of soybean with high and stable yields.
After these first results from the field, we can say that Maestral justifies its name as a very early variety with high yield potential, resistant to lodging and has large grain characteristic.
Lissabon, although the earliest, is our best selling 000 soybean variety, which can ensure two harvest a year.
Due to their short growing season, all our maturity group 000 soybeans are intended for sowing in the later sowing dates- from the end of April until June 25 after the harvest of barley. Very often, farmers report that they managed to sow soybeans after our very early wheat Basilio, which can also be on of the possibilities.
At the end, we hope that the soybeans affected by the storm, managed to recover, for now the yields are here, and we wish our farmers a successful and rich harvest.
